An important church family update

March 27, 2020

Graceland Family,

Starting this Sunday (March 29th) we will have services online at 9:00am and 10:30am.

We are doing this to provide a live chat for prayer and connection as we’re apart during the coronavirus pandemic.

During these service times you’ll be able to get online and watch the service, join in on a live chat with the Pastors, have 1-on-1 conversations if you need prayer, and just be thankful knowing that all across Southern Indiana our church family is watching together!

And don’t worry, if you miss the 9:00am and 10:30am times you can still watch via our YouTube channel and Graceland App.

In addition to these service times we are launching a new Graceland Online website that can be your source for services, a family discussion guide that goes along with the sermon, prayer, help, Kid’s resources like the Sunday Kid’s Bible study and Kid’s worship videos, and Student resources during the time that we can’t meet together.

We can’t wait to see how God uses this to bring us together in this time when we’re apart physically.

Check out on Sunday morning for our services!

March 24, 2020 – 8:15pm

Graceland Family,

It is with great sincerity I write you this evening to inform you that a member of our church family has been confirmed positive with COVID-19.

We will not be releasing this individual’s identity out of respect for their privacy.

The last time this individual was on the Graceland campus was March 8 for Groups, Worship, and our Vision Sunday lunch. It is possible with this timeline the individual had not contracted the virus. However, Floyd County Health Department has called and informed us that this is a date the individual was certain of being in a large gathering.

First of all, we must pray. This virus and the changes it has brought to the world and our nation in the last couple of months are no surprise to God.

Secondly, we must stand firm in scripture and trust God in times of the unknown. Jesus says to us in Matthew 11 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

This is a promise from Jesus that he will give our souls rest. Rest! Isn’t rest what we crave in our anxiety and confusion? Family I pray we would go to our knees in prayer for our souls as well as the souls in our neighborhoods, generations, and in the nations.

Third, we will be contacting the people we know had close contact with the individual infected with the virus. This is not to spread fear or panic or gossip but so those in close contact can contact the health department  and be vigilant in looking for signs of the virus in themselves and in their families.

Finally, we will continue to update you as we get more information on this situation.

Again I ask you to pray. Pray for our church family member who has been infected. Pray that God would heal them and bring them through this virus safely to health. Pray for those whom this individual came into close contact with, that they would be spared this virus. And pray that through this virus, people far from God will be brought close because He is the only one who can give us true rest.
