Since 2010, GBC has had members serving full time in Southeast Asia. In that time, there have been a number of trips to help support and serve alongside them. It is always a blessing to spend time with these missionaries, see firsthand how God is leading them, and learn about how the Kingdom is growing. This specific trip will focus on serving the indigenous young men attending the discipleship program and their leaders. These young men come from a variety of remote villages and islands to be discipled. Though this is the main focus, there are always a variety of additional opportunities that will be available to help serve the missionary team and their local partnerships.

As the trip leader, it has been a joy to personally make the journey 4 times. It is always a rewarding experience and a time of personal growth. As a result, God has placed this people group and our local partners on me and my family’s heart’s. They are never far from our thoughts and always in our prays. It is great to see a biblical model of discipleship and multiplication in action.

Romans 10:15 says, “And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” I am so thankful to be able to partner with those going to Indonesia whose beautiful feet will carry the gospel message to others through missions. By supporting their efforts I, too, can have a small part in being the hands and feet of Jesus. – Shelia, Financial Partner

Going to Southeast Asia was a very unique and rewarding experience. I was exposed to a vastly different cultural and religious experience. The greatest blessing was being able to see the work that the Lord is doing in this majority Muslim country, and to aid in that effort in some small way. Spending time with the young men in the Discipleship program and being able to encourage them in their walk with the Lord was worth going half way around the world. It is exciting to imagine the impact that these young men will make as they carry a more mature faith and witness back to their villages after they graduate from this discipleship program. – Chris, Former Team Member
